Catrina Hamilton received a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in 1991, an M.S. from Arizona State University in 1994, and a Ph.D. from Wesleyan University in 2003. Her main research interest is in observational astronomy, and in particular, she helped discover the unique object known as KH 15D. This object was first recognized as a variable star with a very unusual eclipse (disappearing for 16 out of every 48 days). Catrina came to Dickinson in 2006 from Mount Holyoke College, where she was a five collge teaching fellow in astronomy. Previously, while pursuing her Ph.D., she was a senior lecturer at Connecticut College.
Outside of work, Catrina enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
