Science Symposium Speaker: The keynote address at this year's Science
Student Research Symposium will be given by Professor Lars English. The event
takes place on Wednesday, April 9 beginning at 4:30 pm.
Award Winner: Research Professor Priscilla Laws has been awarded the
International Commission on Physics Education (ICPE) Medal for 2008 in
recognition of distinguished contributions to Physics Education with far
reaching international impact. Congratulations Priscilla!
Fulbright Award: Professor Hans Pfister has been selected to participate
in the 2008 Fulbright German Studies Seminar "Science and Society: The Impact
of Science on Policy Formation." Congratulations Hans!
Grant Received: Professors David Jackson, Brett Pearson, and Hans
Pfister received a $145,261 grant from the National Science Foundation for
"Integrating Photon Quantum Mechanics Experiments into the Undergraduate
Physics Curriculum."
International Travel Award: Professor Lars English received an
International Travel Award from the American Physical Society to host
Professor Alidou Mohamadou (University of Cameroon) here at Dickinson
for a month. Congratulations Lars!
New Publications: Professors English, Pearson, Boyle, and Jackson have
recently completed research that has led to publications. More information can be
